# Cancellation of commissions > Sometimes we must cancel commissions that were already approved — and even already paid. When that happens, we need to recover those funds, and the responsibility is shared with the affiliate. We all win together — but sometimes, we also lose together. Source: https://doothemes.com/docs/affiliates/cancellation-of-commissions --- ## Why Does This Happen? Even after an order passes validation, it can later be reversed by: - **Late disputes** — claims opened long after the order was approved. - **Chargebacks** — the cardholder reverses the payment through their bank. - **Credit card fraud** — purchases made with stolen or unauthorized cards. Our **[no-refund policy](https://doothemes.com/p/refund-policy)** protects us up to a certain point, but there are cases where we are forced to take responsibility for chargebacks. We have a **dedicated dispute team** that fights every claim. However, sometimes that is not enough to preserve the funds, and we are forced into a **mandatory refund — plus dispute fees and chargeback surcharges** on top of the lost sale. --- ## What Happens to the Affected Commissions? It depends on the status of the commission at the time of the reversal: - **Pending or Approved commissions** are simply cancelled and moved to Rejected. - **Paid commissions** cannot be undone — the money is already in your hands. In this case, the amount is **deducted from your current or future commissions**. In other words: if a paid commission is affected, the recovery is applied as a **negative adjustment against your balance**, and it is settled automatically as new commissions come in. --- ## Our Commitment: Fund Preservation Let this be clear: - **We will always dispute every claim as far as we are allowed.** Our team fights for every order before accepting any loss. - The goal is always the **preservation of funds** — yours and ours. - But when a loss is unavoidable, **the responsibility is shared**. The commission generated by a reversed order cannot be kept, just as we cannot keep the sale. This is what keeps the program fair and sustainable for everyone.
