## What Is a Commission?
 
A commission is the **monetary reward you earn** when a customer referred by you completes a purchase of any Doothemes product or service.
 
It is calculated as a **percentage of the order total** and credited to your affiliate balance. Since our program is recurring, you don't just earn on the first sale — **every purchase your referred customers make generates a new commission for you.**

## How Is a Commission Generated?
 
A commission is created automatically when this flow completes:
 
1. **Click** — A user visits Doothemes through your referral link.
2. **Sign Up** — The user creates an account and verifies it.
3. **Purchase** — That user completes an order (or an already-linked referred customer makes a new purchase: renewal, upgrade, or new product).
4. **Registration** — The system attributes the sale to your account and creates the commission with the status **Pending**.
5. **Validation** — The order goes through our validation process (payment confirmation, fraud checks, refund window).
> Once a referred customer is linked to your account, **all their future purchases generate commissions automatically** — no link or cookie needed.

## Dynamic Commission Percentage
 
Commissions are **not fixed** — your percentage is dynamic and can reach **up to 8% per sale**.
 
Your rate is determined by your performance as an affiliate: the volume and consistency of sales you generate. This means:
 
- Better performance → higher percentage
- Lower activity → your rate may adjust downward
- The **8% maximum** is reserved for top-performing affiliates
Your current rate is always visible in your affiliate dashboard.

## Renegotiating Your Commission Percentage
 
Your percentage is **not set in stone**. Affiliates with strong, consistent results are in a position to **renegotiate their commission rate** directly with our team.
 
- Demonstrate sustained sales volume and quality referrals
- Request a rate review through your affiliate dashboard or affiliate support
- Our team evaluates your performance history and may adjust your percentage — always up to the program maximum of **8%**
The better your track record, the stronger your negotiating position.

## Commission Statuses
 
Every commission moves through a defined lifecycle:

- [x] **Pending** - The default status when a commission is created. The order is still going through validation.
- [x] **Approved** - The order has successfully passed all validation checks — the commission is confirmed and awaiting payout.
- [x] **Rejected** - The order did not pass validation (refund, chargeback, fraud) or the funds are not accessible. The commission is cancelled.
- [x] **Paid** - The commission has been paid out to your account. The cycle is complete.

> The approval process for a commission can take up to 30 days.
