## What Does "Recurring" Mean?
 
In most affiliate programs, you earn once: the first sale pays, and everything after that belongs to the company. Not here.
 
At Doothemes, when a customer purchases through your referral, **every purchase they make from that moment on generates a commission for you**:
 
- Their first order.
- License renewals.
- Plan or product upgrades.
- Any new product or service they buy — today, next year, or five years from now.
One successful referral becomes a **permanent source of income**.

## The Referrer Is Forever
 
This is the rule that makes it all work:
 
**A referred customer keeps their referrer forever — and cannot adopt a new referrer afterward.**
 
The referral relationship is consolidated the moment the referred user **completes the registration of their account** — as detailed in the [Cookie & Tracking Policy](https://doothemes.com/docs/affiliates/cookie-tracking-policy). From that point:
 
- The link is **permanent**. It does not expire, and it does not need to be renewed.
- **No other affiliate can claim that customer.** Even if the customer later clicks another affiliate's link, the original attribution stands — the customer already has a referrer.
- Every future purchase is credited to you **automatically**, with no link, coupon, or cookie required.
The attribution battle happens only once, before the customer registers their account. After that, the relationship is sealed.

## Why Do We Do This?
 
Because a good referral has value far beyond the first sale.
 
When you bring us a customer, you are not bringing us one order — you are bringing us a relationship that can last years. It is only fair that your compensation lasts just as long. Recurring commissions are our way of rewarding the full value you create, not just a fraction of it.

## A Practical Example

- [x] In July, they renew their license. You earn again — automatically, without doing anything.
- [x] In November, they purchase a custom service. You earn again.

## Keep in Mind
 
- Each recurring commission follows the same lifecycle as any other: it is created as Pending, goes through the [Commission Validation Process](https://doothemes.com/docs/affiliates/commission-validation-process), and is approved once the payment is secured.
- Your dynamic rate at the time of each sale applies — as your rate grows, so do your recurring earnings.
