# License activation > How to activate your Wovie license in Dbmovies › Updates, what it gives you, and how to check it, move it or remove it. Source: https://doothemes.com/docs/wovie/license-activation --- ## Overview Your Wovie license brings the updates of the theme to your WordPress admin. You activate it in **Dbmovies › Updates**, the license and update center that Dbmovies manages for every Doothemes product on your site. Wovie never connects to the Doothemes server on its own: Dbmovies does it for the theme. ## What the license gives you While your Wovie license is active: - **Theme updates** arrive in your WordPress admin, for the time your plan includes. - **Its daily requests are added** to those of your Dbmovies license for IMDb data: when one license reaches its daily limit, the next one takes over. See [Sharing requests across licenses](https://doothemes.com/docs/dbmovies/modules/updates#sharing-requests-across-licenses). - **You can open support tickets** from your Doothemes account. If your license expires or is removed, Wovie keeps working exactly the same: nothing on your site is locked. Only the updates stop until you activate a license again. ## Where to find your license key You receive your license key by email after your purchase. You can also see all your licenses at any time in [Licenses](https://doothemes.com/account/licenses) in your Doothemes account. ## How to activate your license 1. Make sure Wovie is your active theme. The Wovie row only appears while Wovie, or a child theme of Wovie, is active. 2. In your WordPress admin, go to **Dbmovies › Updates**. 3. Click the **Wovie** row, or **Activate** on that row. The License management panel opens. 4. Paste your Wovie key in **License key**. 5. Click **Activate**. [SCREENSHOT_HERE: Dbmovies › Updates with the Dbmovies and Wovie rows, and the License management panel of Wovie open with the License key field] When the activation works, the panel shows a confirmation and the Wovie row changes to **Active**, with your key partly hidden. Use the license of the right product. A Dbmovies license does not activate Wovie, and a Wovie license does not activate Dbmovies: the panel tells you if the key belongs to a different product. ## Check your activation - The Wovie row shows **Active** in **Dbmovies › Updates**. - When a new version of Wovie is out, it appears in **Dashboard › Updates** and in **Appearance › Themes**. Dbmovies checks your licenses with the server every hour, so a renewal or a change of plan shows up on its own. To check it right away, open the Wovie panel and click **Check now**. ## Move, deactivate or remove the license The Wovie license works like the Dbmovies license. See the Dbmovies documentation: - [Move your license to another site](https://doothemes.com/docs/dbmovies/license-activation#move-your-license-to-another-site). - [Deactivate or uninstall a license](https://doothemes.com/docs/dbmovies/license-activation#deactivate-or-uninstall-a-license). - [Local sites](https://doothemes.com/docs/dbmovies/modules/updates#local-sites): `localhost` and domains that end in `.local`, `.test` or `.localhost` do not use an activation. ## Troubleshooting | Problem | What to do | |---|---| | There is no Wovie row in **Dbmovies › Updates** | Activate Wovie in **Appearance › Themes**. The row only appears while Wovie, or a child theme of Wovie, is your active theme | | The Wovie row shows a generic theme icon | Update Dbmovies. The Wovie icon appears from Dbmovies 1.3.36 | | *This license belongs to a different product.* | You pasted the key of another product, such as your Dbmovies key. Use your Wovie key from [Licenses](https://doothemes.com/account/licenses) | | The license is active, but no update appears | Open the Wovie panel and click **Check now**. Then go to **Dashboard › Updates** and click **Check again** | | Any other message in the panel | See [Activation problems](https://doothemes.com/docs/dbmovies/license-activation#activation-problems) in the Dbmovies documentation | If the problem continues, [open a support ticket](https://doothemes.com/account/tickets/new) with your license key and the exact message you see.
