# Home and Browser > The home page of Wovie is a content browser: a featured carousel, your genres and rows of titles. This page explains what each part shows, where its content comes from, and the Browser page. Source: https://doothemes.com/docs/wovie/pages/home-and-browser --- ## Overview Your home page is the content browser of Wovie. From top to bottom, it shows: 1. **The featured carousel**, with the titles you featured. 2. **Your genres**, as a row of cards with icons. 3. **Recently viewed**, the titles the visitor opened. 4. **Most viewed today**. 5. **Movies** and **TV Shows**, your latest titles. 6. **Latest episodes**. Everything fills on its own from your Dbmovies catalog. The only parts you choose are the featured titles and the genres. A row with nothing to show does not appear. [SCREENSHOT_HERE: The home page of Wovie on a computer, with the featured carousel, the genres row and the Most viewed today row] ## The featured carousel The carousel shows up to 10 of your featured titles, the most recently featured first. On computers it shows two titles side by side, and on phones one at a time. Each slide shows the backdrop of the title, its logo or title, the year, the age rating, the runtime, the rating with a star, the tagline and the synopsis, with two buttons: - **Watch now**: on a movie, opens its page with the player ready. On a TV show, opens the first episode of its first season. - **More info**: opens the page of the title. The carousel moves to the next slide every 6.5 seconds. It stops while the mouse is over it, and it does not move on its own when the visitor's device asks for reduced motion. Visitors move through it with the dots, or by swiping on a phone. To feature a title, see [Featured content](https://doothemes.com/docs/dbmovies/modules/featured-content) in the Dbmovies documentation. Until you feature a title, the carousel does not appear. ## The rows ### Genres The genres you choose in **Appearance › Customize › Wovie / General › Genres list**, in the order you set, each with its icon. Each card opens the page of its genre. See [First steps](https://doothemes.com/docs/wovie/first-steps#step-4-add-your-genres-to-the-home-page). ### Recently viewed The last movies and TV shows the visitor opened, up to 50, the most recent first. Wovie keeps this list in the visitor's browser: it is different on each device, it is not linked to the member account, and it is empty for a new visitor. The row appears once the visitor opens a movie or a TV show. ### Most viewed today The 10 titles with the most views today, numbered from 1 to 10. The views come from the Dbmovies view counter: see [View counter](https://doothemes.com/docs/dbmovies/modules/view-counter). ### Movies and TV Shows Your latest 25 movies and your latest 25 TV shows. The title of each row, and the **All** card at its end, open the archive of all your movies or TV shows. See [Archives and filters](https://doothemes.com/docs/wovie/pages/archives). ### Latest episodes Your 20 most recently published episodes. Each card shows the TV show, the season and the episode, and opens the page of the TV show with that episode open. See [TV show page](https://doothemes.com/docs/wovie/pages/tv-show). [SCREENSHOT_HERE: The Latest episodes row of the home page, with episode cards and their quality and language badges] ## The cards The poster of each title can show these badges: - **Quality** and **language**, such as **HD** and **LAT**, at the top left. - **The rating** of the title, with an arrow up from 6.5 and an arrow down below it. - **A message**, such as *New episode*, at the bottom, while it has not expired. You set the quality, language and message badges in Dbmovies: see [Custom badges](https://doothemes.com/docs/dbmovies/settings/custom-badges). The rating comes from [User ratings](https://doothemes.com/docs/dbmovies/modules/user-ratings). ## On phones - The carousel shows one title at a time, with dots below. - The genres and every row scroll sideways with a swipe, or with the arrows of the row. [SCREENSHOT_HERE: The home page of Wovie on a phone, with the carousel showing one title and the genres row below] ## What you can change - **The featured titles:** in Dbmovies, see [Featured content](https://doothemes.com/docs/dbmovies/modules/featured-content). - **The genres:** in **Appearance › Customize › Wovie / General › Genres list**. The order of the rows and the number of titles in each one are fixed. New titles, episodes and featured titles take up to 5 minutes to appear on your home page: Wovie keeps each row ready for 5 minutes, so the page loads faster. ## The Browser page The **Browser** page shows the same content browser as your home page. Dbmovies creates it when you activate Wovie. Use it to: - **Link to the browser from your menu,** for example as *Browse*. - **Set it as your home page,** if your home page is a static page: in **Settings › Reading**, choose **A static page** and select **Browser** as your homepage. See [Browser page](https://doothemes.com/docs/dbmovies/settings/required-pages#browser-page) in the Dbmovies documentation. ## Troubleshooting | Problem | What to do | |---|---| | The featured carousel does not appear | Feature at least one movie or TV show. See [Featured content](https://doothemes.com/docs/dbmovies/modules/featured-content). A featured title stops appearing when its featured time ends | | The genres row does not appear | Add genres in **Appearance › Customize › Wovie / General › Genres list** and click **Publish** | | A genre shows no icon | Check the **FA class icon**: it needs both classes, such as `fa-solid fa-film` | | Most viewed today does not appear | No title has views today yet. If you use a page cache, check [View counter](https://doothemes.com/docs/dbmovies/modules/view-counter): cached pages can stop counting views | | A new title or featured title does not appear | Wait up to 5 minutes | | The home page does not show the content browser | Go to **Settings › Reading** and choose **Your latest posts**, or set the **Browser** page as your static homepage |
