Overview

This page lists what changed in each version of Wovie, newest first.

Your version appears in Appearance › Themes, in the details of Wovie, and in Dbmovies › Updates.

Updates arrive in Dbmovies › Updates and Dashboard › Updates, with your license active. See License activation.

Before updating, check the version of Dbmovies that the new version needs: it is noted in its entry below. Keep Dbmovies up to date first. See Requirements.

v1.2.31 — October 22, 2026

• Faster pages on phones: loading backgrounds and placeholders no longer animate, so the browser stops redrawing them.
• The theme starts without waiting for third-party scripts such as Google Tag Manager, so content and carousel posters appear sooner.
• The home page featured carousel and the header menu keep their layout while the page loads.

v1.2.30 — October 21, 2026

• Contact form on the Contact page, with the same look as the sign-in page (Dbmovies 1.3.37 or later).
• Cloudflare Turnstile on the sign-in, sign-up, password reset and contact forms (Dbmovies 1.3.37 or later).
• The Browser page shows the content explorer, and on mobile the title of regular pages no longer sits under the header.

v1.2.29 — October 20, 2026

• Collections can be rated, saved to My list and shared.
• Collection pages show the years they cover, the number of movies and TV shows, the main genres and the recurring cast. Titles can be sorted by newest first, release order or top rated (Dbmovies 1.3.36 or later).
• Episodes show quality and language badges (Dbmovies 1.3.36 or later).

v1.2.28 — October 17, 2026

• When you open a movie or TV show from a list, its poster appears right away. The full-quality poster replaces it as soon as it loads.
• Cast photos appear right away in the same way when you open a person.

v1.2.27 — October 17, 2026

• Pages no longer show a full-screen loading spinner, and every image shows a loading background.
• On iPhone, the Next and Previous buttons no longer scroll to the footer.
• Episode thumbnails are no longer empty while they load.

v1.2.26 — October 13, 2026

• Signing in with a password returns visitors to the page they came from.
• Complete Spanish translation.

v1.2.25 — October 13, 2026

• Account menu in the header, and a new mobile menu.
• Videos play inside the page on phones, and full width on desktop.
• Auto-Embed sources on movie pages (Dbmovies 1.3.30 or later).

v1.2.24 — October 12, 2026

• Paid memberships with PayPal: subscribe, automatic renewal and renewal cancellation (Dbmovies 1.3.29 or later).
• My links and Messages show a preview of the sections on the way.

v1.2.23 — October 11, 2026

• The home page hero shows Watch now and More info on each title.
• On phones, swipe between titles in the window to change a vote, and double tap a rating to change it.
• With an SEO plugin such as Yoast or Rank Math active, the theme no longer duplicates the description and social sharing tags of title pages.
• Fixes on iPhone for the Ratings page and the home page hero.

v1.2.22 — October 11, 2026

• New Ratings page in the account: a summary of your votes, a filter by type, changing a vote and undoing a removal (Dbmovies 1.3.27 or later).
• The home page hero moves one slide at a time.

v1.2.21 — October 9, 2026

• A row of the latest episodes on the home page.
• A reorganized Details window, with IMDb and TMDb ratings that link to their pages and dates in the language of your site.
• The search, Details and Trailer windows have a frosted glass background.

v1.2.20 — October 8, 2026

• A side panel with every source on movie pages: Watch and Download with their language, quality, size, password and premium label.
• The Watch and Download buttons are always shown; without sources, the panel says so.

v1.2.19 — October 7, 2026

• The footer link columns and social links are WordPress menus, in Appearance › Menus. Your existing footer links are moved to them automatically.
• Social link icons are chosen from the address of each link.
• On phones, the footer columns open and close as an accordion.

v1.2.18 — October 7, 2026

• Connected accounts in Account › Settings › Security: see and disconnect Google (Dbmovies 1.3.18 or later).
• Accounts created with Google can set a password.
• After signing in with Google, the page no longer stays on the sign-in form.

v1.2.17 — October 7, 2026

• Sign in with Google (Dbmovies 1.3.18 or later).
• Directors and creators appear next to the cast, and the title page is redesigned on phones.
• Premium sources require an active subscription, and their links and passwords are no longer visible in the page code.
• Security fixes: some addresses and title fields could be used to inject scripts.

v1.2.16 — August 6, 2026

• Person pages load their filmography from Dbmovies, faster and without leaving cache entries in the database (Dbmovies 1.3.17 or later).
• The license page lists the theme as Wovie.
