Wovie
TV show page
The page of each TV show: its details, its seasons and episodes, the episode panel, the Viewed marks and the Continue button. This page explains each part and where the episodes come from.
Overview
The page of a TV show works like the page of a movie, with its hero, rating, synopsis, cast, comments and related titles. On top of that, it has:
- The seasons and their episodes, below the hero.
- The episode panel, where visitors watch or download each episode.
- A Viewed mark on the episodes the visitor opened.
- A Continue button to go back to the last episode.

The hero
It shows the same as on a movie, with these differences:
- The years: 2018–2023 for a TV show that ended, 2018– for one that is still on the air, and only the year for one that has not premiered.
- The runtime of each episode, such as 45m/ep.
- The status: Returning Series, Ended, Canceled, In Production, Planned or Pilot.
- Continue instead of Watch and Download: each episode has its own links, in the episode panel.
Seasons and episodes
Below the hero, Episodes list shows the episodes of one season at a time:
- The season selector lists every season with its year and its number of episodes. Choosing a season shows its episodes, and the poster of the hero changes to the poster of that season, when it has one.
- Overview shows the synopsis of the season, when it has one.
- Each episode shows its image, its title, its season and number, and its quality and language badges.
- Load more episodes shows the next ones. To change how many load at a time, see Episodes list in the Dbmovies documentation.
Which season opens first:
- The season of the link, when the visitor arrives with a link to an episode.
- Otherwise, the last season the visitor viewed in this TV show.
- Otherwise, Season 1, or the first regular season of the TV show.

The episode panel
Clicking an episode opens its panel: from the right on computers, and from the bottom on phones. It shows:
- the image and the synopsis of the episode, with its badges;
- Watch, with its streaming links, and Download, with its download links;
- Previous and Next, to move to the other episodes without closing the panel. When the visitor reaches the last episode loaded, the next ones load on their own.
How the player works is explained in Player and links.

Viewed and Continue
- Viewed: each episode the visitor opens gets a Viewed mark in the list.
- Continue: once the visitor opens an episode, the Continue button appears in the hero. It opens the last episode they opened, in its season.
Wovie keeps both in the visitor's browser: they are different on each device, they are not linked to the member account, and clearing the browser data removes them.
Links to an episode
A link to the TV show with ?season= and &episode= opens that episode directly, with its panel open:

Where the episodes come from
Dbmovies creates the episodes of each TV show, season by season, with Automatic episodes or by hand. See Importing the episodes and Episodes in the Dbmovies documentation.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The page shows no Episodes list | The TV show has no seasons yet, or was not imported from TMDb. Check its seasons in Dbmovies |
| A season shows No episodes available yet. | Its episodes were not created yet. With Automatic episodes on, they arrive in the background. See Importing the episodes |
| Could not load episodes. | Reload the page. If it continues, check that your site uses pretty permalinks (see Requirements) and that no security plugin blocks the WordPress REST API |
| The Continue button does not appear | It appears once the visitor opens an episode of that TV show in that browser |
